Get
ready for
Charlotte AutoFair time again in the Carolinas! The Hornets Nest Region, Antique Automobile Club of America,
invites you to join us for the Charlotte AutoFair Fall
Meet in
September. The Event
runs September 4-7, with the HNR Auto Show on Saturday,
September 6, 2008. Charlotte AutoFair features a Collector
Vehicle Vendor Flea Market, one-on-one Car Corral sales area and the Auto Show – all
produced by the Hornets Nest Region, AACA.
Others sponsor various Car Club vehicle presentations on Saturday and
Sunday and a collector car auction on Friday and Saturday.
The AACA Auto Show, which is limited to the first 225 factory original, or restored to original, vehicles, 1983 model year and older, domestic or foreign made. Write or phone the Hornets Nest Region Office for the registration form. This event is pre-registered only. This event will be judged, and awards given for first, second and third place positions. Registration deadline is Friday, July 18, 2008.
Please note carefully the following guidelines and
reminders:
Ø The Hornets Nest Region, AACA Auto Show is Saturday, September 6, only.
Ø The cost for registration in this show is $20/vehicle.
Ø
Entrants
will receive two (2) personal passes (good for
all four days
of Charlotte AutoFair) for each vehicle registered in the AACA Auto Show.
These passes will be mailed to you before
the Event. Your Vehicle Registration
Packet will be picked up Saturday morning in the Green Field as you proceed
toward the Show Field.
Ø This show is pre-registered only, open to vehicles 1983 model year or older - domestic or foreign vehicles are eligible.
Ø Registrations must be postmarked by the deadline of Friday, July 18, 2008 -- registration may close early if 100% capacity is attained earlier.
Ø The HNR Auto Show utilizes vehicle classes determined by the Antique Automobile Club of America. Review the AACA official vehicle classifications.
Ø Your confirmation for the AACA Auto Show entry will be mailed after the registration deadline, or by August 29, 2008.
Ø All vehicles must display a fire extinguisher when being shown or will not be eligible for awards.
Ø During judging of vehicles, the car must be unlocked, trunk and hood open and convertible top and windows in the up position.
Ø Factory original-type vehicles are judged by AACA guidelines. Modified vehicles of any kind such as a non-original engine, wheels, paint colors, or other non-factory features are not allowed in the AACA Auto Show since they would lose major points because of modifications, and therefore would not be eligible for any award.
Ø All entries in the “Driver Participation Class” will receive a participation award - this Class is open to any original vehicle manufactured in 1983 or earlier.
Ø Dash Plaques will be presented to all AACA vehicles which are on the Auto Show field by 11:00 AM.
Ø All trailers are required to be left outside the Speedway Infield – trailers will not be brought into the AACA Auto Show field area for any reason -- all vehicles must be driven onto the Show Field. Trailer parking is provided in the Car Hauler area - ask for credentials for this area.
